JUDGE JULES returns to The 107 Club 25th October

25th October

AFTER his last successful visit to The 107 Club, Judge Jules is set for his return this September.
After the Ibiza season is over, the Radio One DJ will be in town again to play some of the biggest songs of the year.

There will also be free glow sticks and CD giveaways.

To celebrate The 107 Club are opening until 4am. Tickets are £6 before 11:30pm and £8 after.

Judge Jules began DJing professionally back in 1987. He was quickly hired by the then-pirate radio station Kiss FM. He has been on Radio 1 since October 1997. When he first arrived, his show went out between 17:00 and 19:00 on Saturday evenings, ahead of Danny Rampling\'s show. In 2003, after the departure of Seb Fontaine from the station, his show was moved to between 19:00 and 21:00 on Saturday nights, ahead of Tim Westwood. The show was widely advertised as \"The Weekend Warm-Up\". The show kept this slot until September 2007.

During those four years, he played a mixture and more commercial and underground tracks. The first segment of the show were taken by the Cut-Up Boys, who did a ten-minute mix featuring several dance tracks and acappellas playing simultaneously. The rest of the first hour was generally taken up by house music and the second hour featured trance music, although if they were broadcasting the show outside the studio, the music might vary. The show gave rise to one of Judge Jules\'s catchphrases, \"Building your appetite for a Saturday night\", a phrase which he can no longer use as his show now goes out on Friday evenings.

In September 2007, the show was moved to 01:00 to 03:00 every Saturday morning. Because of Jules\' DJ commitments on Friday evenings, his show was now pre-recorded instead of being broadcast live. From September 2008, the show was moved forward by 2 hours to 23:00 to 01:00 every Friday evening.

His show attracts a wide audience from around the world due to Radio 1\'s online internet connections and the Sirius Satellite Radio network out in the U.S. and Canada. Through the radio show, he is responsible for launching many popular trance tunes and acts in the UK, and is a pioneer for commercial contemporary dance music. Many people send their unreleased tracks to him. According to his own website, he receives between 250-300 promos per week. His Radio 1 show is produced by independent production company Somethin\' Else.
He also has an internationally-syndicated radio show called \"The Global Warm Up\" (also produced by Somethin\' Else www.somethinelse.com) which can be heard across the USA, Russia, Europe and the Middle East.

Jules produces his own music - his wife has appeared on a few of these. She provided vocals for the group Angelic, which was a grouping between Judge Jules and Darren Tate. They had two hits, \"It\'s My Turn\" in 2000 and \"Can\'t Keep Me Silent\" in 2001. In 2005, she appeared once more on the track \"Without Love\", which was by Judge Jules himself. This track was eventually released, with remixes, on the Maelstrom Records label in 2007. Jules has also released two albums via this label, \"Proven Worldwide\" in 2006 and \"Bring The Noise\" in 2009. Elsewhere, he has collaborated several times with Paul Masterson under the Hi-Gate name.

HEARTLESS CREW LIVE 28th August!!

28th August

ON FRIDAY THE 28TH OF AUG IMPACT FM 87.5 BRING U THE HEARTLESS CREW WITH BACK UP BY GARAGE AND FUNKY FINEST FOR A BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL U WILL REMEMBER FOREVER !!!

Named so because their hearts in the music, the Heartless Crew was established in 1992 and since then has become an active force within the UK’s music scene. As a respected household name they are recognised as innovators and purveyors of positive vibes. The Heartless Sound is an eclectic montage of uplifting and energetic entertainment.

Consisting of three core members, Fonti, Bushkin and Mighty Moe, Heartless represent one of the UK’s most dynamic and charismatic street-reared brands of recent years. Making great music, having a good time and creating the right vibe is the essence of what they do.

The roots of Heartless stem from the ideology of a Jamaican ‘Sound System’ where everyone works together to achieve a common goal.

“We’re a Sound System at heart. A crew nowadays is just a collective of more than one person.” Bushkin explains. “When we came out with Heartless Crew years ago, we were thinking like a crew on board a ship. We’re all working to sail this ship to its destination, it’s a team effort. In clubs, Fonti may be on the decks, Moe on the mic and I’ll be selecting the next record or dancing. It’s how we work, we’re all team players. We each make up a different piece of the puzzle.”

Attending a Heartless Crew event is an education in itself so expect to hear everything. They will play a Sean Paul dub plate one minute and then be freestyling over a Kylie instrumental the next. These guys are not afraid to break boundaries.

TIM WESTWOOD 5th June

5th June 2009

Tim Westwood on his way to The 107 Club

RADIO One DJ Tim Westwood is heading into town this Friday (June 5) for a set to remember at The 107 Club.
The DJ, who also presented MTV\'s English version of Pimp My Ride, is doing an exclusive FIVE hour set playing the finest in R\'n\'B, hip hop and funky house.

During his career, Westwood has DJ\'ed for many radio stations, including the newly formed radio stations Kiss FM (which he co-owned) and LWR in the 1980s, followed by mainstream station Capital FM (from 1987). In December 1994, following a shake up of Radio 1 by the then chief executive Matthew Bannister, he was given the new and somewhat innovative national Radio 1 Rap Show. He was the Radio 1 Rap Show\'s first presenter and has been its only permanent presenter; he is now one of Radio 1\'s longest-serving broadcasters.
His first broadcast on a legal station appears to have been on 23 March 1985, when he was already working as a pirate DJ.[original research?] He was a guest on a BBC World Service programme called Meridian where he discussed early hip-hop culture in London. After appearing in the 1987 BBC Open Space documentary Bad Meaning Good, which was an early work of his own company Justice Entertainment, he achieved TV exposure in the late 1980s on the ITV programme Night Network, produced by London Weekend Television.
More recently, he presented a series of his own television programme on UKTV channel UK Play, which has since ceased broadcasting. His Radio 1 show is produced by his independent company Justice Entertainment, which also produces Chris Goldfinger\'s dancehall show for Radio 1.
In the late 1980s his name was often mentioned in British rap records, as he was the only well-known DJ playing hip hop on legal radio in Britain. He was named Best UK Radio DJ in the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards in 2000, 2003 and 2005. In interviews, he has said that he has strong moral convictions, and that he does not drink nor take drugs.[citation needed] He is a patron of the internal radio station at Feltham Young Offenders\' Institution in West London.
